In 1956 before Interstate 17 was built, James Edgar Page Jr. and his wife Fanita opened Page Springs to serve travelers between Phoenix and Flagstaff. By the 1970's, the thriving business evolved from a store and gas station into a legendary restaurant. Today, Up The Creek is a living piece of history, and owners Jim and Mario continue the tradition of welcoming service, elevated by fine food and wine.
The area known as Page Springs is a vibrant part of the Verde Valley wine community and as such is designated as the Verde Valley American Viticultural Area. Javelina Leap, D/A Ranch, Oak Creek Vineyards and Page Spring Cellars are just a few of the vineyards down the road from Up The Creek.
